To all campers, there are 2 tasks given to you guys, this was task on you guys to test your corporative skills and ability to finish tasks on time.
1) Work with your group members to come up with a group name before the camp.
2) Work with the whole sec 3 councillors to come up with a plan for your own investiture

For the first task, we will need you guys to work among your group members to come up with a group name with the theme untitled. The theme untitled is the theme for the camp. You guys can come up with any group your group wants according to this theme.

For the second task, you guys will need to come up with ONE plan for your own investiture. This plan should be ready to be use at any time and should be feasible. The actual implementation of your investiture proposal will be up to your batch of Exco together with the teachers to decide on the actual implementation.
Things to include in your proposal are:
· Logistics
· Budget
· Schedule
· Activities details
· Manpower needed
Do take note that the full duration you will be planning for is 2 hours. But this will be subjected to changes as there might be more time given for this year. However, just plan for 2 hours for now, but be prepared for the additional changes.

There will be a council meeting this coming thursday (4th november). For those who have yet to pass the report slips to your respective level heads, please bring it along. We will be giving out consent forms to y'all for council camp so please ask your parents/ check your schedule to see if you can make it okay (: Also, we will be informing the sec 1s and 2s about the interview dates and details plus details of leadership training session! TASK FOR THE SEC 2s.

Sec 2s, now that your probation is over and that you are all official councillors, please do not slacken off, instead, show us what you are capable of :D

In your few departments, you are tasked to do different proposals according to what your department is. The sec 3s will take how well you fare in this proposal into serious consideration, good luck (:

Discipline department:

Address the issue on the school’s discipline problems. Offer suggestions on how/ what are we going to do as a student council to help improve this situation. Think along the lines of the attire and discipline problems

For example: tuck-out shirts? Ankle socks? (e.g. NYGH)
detention? (who is going to carry out?)

Welfare department:

Address issues that the school population is lacking in terms of welfare. Offer suggestions on how/ what are we going to do as a student council to help improve this situation. Think along the lines of what does the student population wants/needs.

For example: A studying area for students? (how to maintain silence?)
PE lessons combined to reduce time lost changing out of uniforms?

Communications department:

Address issues that the school population has been talking about but no concrete follow-ups have been done. Offer suggestions on how/ what are we going to do as a student council to help improve this situation. Think along the lines on what the student population has been asking for.

For example: Food and Drinks system. (how are you going to convince the school that there will be no litters? )

Resource department:

Address issues on the new council room. Offer suggestions on how/ what are we going to do as a student council to help improve the room. Timothy will be bringing those who have yet to see the council room - please contact him if you want to! Meanwhile, you guys can start to think about what can be done as a general point of view.

For example: Games corner?
New furniture?
Snack Area?

Operations department:

-Jazlyn has already told you guys what to do about the hall plan so just follow up on that!

• Please standardize all your proposal format and font as Arial size 12
The format of the proposal is date, To: Mr liu/ Ms chua, Title and start.

• Proposals should not be longer than 2 pages.

• Do add in the time frame, action plan, aim, objectives and details of your plan in the proposal.

• Do remember to add in your name, class and department at the end of your proposal.

• Deadline is next Friday 22nd October (before school ends) and ALL LATE PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED.

• You are allowed to use the examples that I posed there but do note that the others might be doing the same as you.

• Please also print out your finalized proposal and pass it any of the sec 3 councillors / EXCO.

I hope all of you will have the integrity and responsibility to finish this task BY YOURSELF and hand it up on time! Do your best and last but not least, good luck and all the best for EOY results! :P (remember to give me your photocopied result slip too! )

This message is from the Council President:

To all councillor, due to some misconception, I shall repeat the role of the ICs in the various sections of the parade square. The ICs are suppose to carry out their class duty as per normal. Which means the ICs stilll has to take their classes and carry out their duty. However, if there are anything that happened in the section or when you think that something is not right, you could try to settle it. If the matter is serious, inform the excos or any sec 3s councillors nearby. Class councillors could also report whatever incident which happen in their class (Eg. Discipline cases) to the ICs. They could then inform the excos about the incident. The ICs also needs to ensure that the classes in that section settles down quickly. If there are any classes that are still standing up, the ICs could help to settle them down. However, the ICs will also need to settle down their own classes. Thats why a huge responsibility is placed upon them.

1) The Departments
- This will be permanent till the end of the year and respective heads will call for a meeting soon! If there are any problems please kindly find Regina(secretary)

2) Attire standards
- All attire checks will be done be the discipline department. Councillors should and must maintain a high standard of attire. If there are any enquiries, please kindly find Shihan(Head of Discipline).

3) Morning announcement for sec 2.
- This also includes your second trail. Sec 2 councillors down for morning announcements, the last group (Gavin, Thurston and Shilei) will be spilt into 2 ( Thurston and Shilei) (Gavin and Nicole/Delia) Nicole and Delia are given a second chance to do it because they didn't manage to do it the other time ( wet weather), so anyone who did not do because of whatsoever reasons, please let regina know!

Admin:

1) All councillors please check your personal particulars with your level heads for camp. Regina needs the list back asap to send it to Jingyi, she cant post all your personal particulars online.

2) Reminder: All councillors please return your blazers if they are still with you!

Morning Level Patrol Duty

Group 1:
• Li Zong Hao

Description of Duty:
• Start moving up to the 5th and 6th floor at 0715
• Comb each level carefully at least twice and chase any students down.
• Check the toilets, stairwells and any other areas students could hide in.

Group 2:
• Zeng Ya Fei
• Wang Shu Fan
• Li Yun Di

Description of Duty:
• Move up to the 4th floor at 0715
• Do a quick downward sweep to the 2nd floor. (chance that there are students are lower than those at the 5th and 6th floor)
• Check the toilets, stairwells and any other areas students could hide in.

Timeline:
0715: Move to the allocated levels
0717 – 0725: Allocated Duties
0725: Immediately end your sweep and move down to the Parade Square. Report to Shi Han and inform him of the areas still left unchecked or to confirm that the whole level has been checked. Join your allocated classes after that.

Important Notes:
 In the event of students blatantly refusing to go down despite numerous repeated reminders, please bring this matter up to Shi Han(call him to notify him) who will in turn inform Mr Nicholas Liu.
 In the event that a student is unable to come down for any particular VALID reason (e.g. using the toilet), please inform Shi Han too. One or two of you stay behind to make sure that the student goes down after they are done(rush them) while the others continue with the sweep. Join those doing the sweep as soon as possible.
 Walk briskly and aim to finish your sweep as fast as possible. However, DO NOT compromise on the quality of your checks.

- Side burns should not be able to be pulled with ease

- Hair at the back should not be long such that it grows past the first collar

Socks wise: buying long socks so that if their socks are repeatedly unacceptable, they have to change on the spot and pay for the socks.

All Sec3 councillors, this is the task you have to complete. You are to propose a solution on the following issue and draw up a DETAILED action plan.

Issue: How to prevent students from bringing food and drinks to class?

In your proposal, you should take into consideration the cost, efficiency/effectiveness, feasibility, allocation of duties and time needed to implement the idea.

Your proposal should be no more than 2 pages, Arial font, size 12, single line spacing. You have to print out a copy of your proposal and hand in on the 1st day when school reopens- Monday 22 March. You are to hand in to either Mr Nicholas Liu or Madam Chua (personally) before 2pm. The dateline will NOT be extended. Late entries will STRICTLY not be entertained.

Sec 1 Registration

Hi NHSC :D

Yup, this year's chalet is during 1-3 December, at Coasta Sands Pasir Ris. The BBQ will be on the first evening, i.e. coming Tuesday evening. ALL ARE EXTREMELY WELCOMED! :D

We'll be meeting at Pasir Ris MRT station at 1.30pm to bring you guys there. There's a shuttle bus service at 2.15pm, try not to miss it or the next one will only be at 3.15pm. -_-

Alternatively, you can make your way to the Coasta Sands on your own via the bus 354 from Pasir Ris Int and you would have to walk in as indicated by the map below (there will be signages everywhere anw). Regarding the council chalet this year, I'm proposing a 3D2N one at Coasta Sands Resort (Pasir Ris) from 01/12/2009 to 03/12/2009, with a BBQ on 02/12/2009. I will confirm the amount you guys have to pay and inform all of you again.

Do note that campaigning will be extended to one more week. So the last day would be next friday, 24 July 2009. However, the campaigning is optional as the extension is for Liangchoon and Shermine (who are quarrantined due to H1N1) and Pearlynn.

COUNCIL LUNCH:

Due to the current H1N1 situation, no mass gathering is allowed. So therefore, the protem no longer needs to do the speech infront of the student body. However, we would be filming you guys down in a video. The video is to be played during open space, next wednesday, 15 July 2009.

For those going for BBQ, there will be shutter bus services (from Pasir Ris MRT to Costa Sands Resort) @ 1715 and 1915. If you want go come together with the rest of council, please meet at the Pasir Ris MRT control station @ 1700 and 1900 respectively.
The last few shutter bus services available will be @ 2100, 2200 and 2300, so roughly plan the time you want to come and the time you want to leave.

Council chalet 2008!

Venue: Costa Sands Resort (Pasir Ris)
Date: 10-12 dec
BBQ: 11 dec, 6pm-10pm

Please confirm your attendance for chalet with jingyi latest by tuesday(2 dec) be it whether you are going for chalet, bbq and even if you're not going. The money to be paid per person will be notified at a later date. For now the estimated price is (chalet) $20 and (BBQ) $6. Other details will be given at a later date. Please try to inform jingyi asap! Thanks :)

There will be a council meeting on 17 Dec. We are going to inform you about your duties for Sec 1 registration. Please report at 7.30 am at the sch canteen. Report in Half Uniform(sch tee and skirt). Please confirm your attendance for ROD with Karine latest by friday, 5 dec. Thanks!

(btw rod is an event where we bid the sec 4s farewell and welcome the new sec 1 councilors)

Open House Duty.

Shift 1: report @ 7.15am
Shift 2: report @11am
Venue: SAC

Please come in full u on the actual day, together with your tie and badge. There will be an attire check before duty starts. So those who need a haircut, try to have it tomorrow, girls can tie up their hair. Those who did not go for the open house rehearsal the other day, please take note:

Principal's talk - 10am, 1pm
CCA performance - 11am, 2pm
Our lunch - 12pm to 1pm (message will be passed when lunch is ready. If not, please check you can have a check at the canteen or SAC)

Last thing! Read up your FAQ and the tour information given to make sure you know the school well. MUST DO YOUR HOMEWORK AH :D Those who do not have, make sure you get your copy before you go for duty. Remember, if you are not sure of the answer, direct the guest or parents to the information booth. Please also note that attendance will be taken before your duty ends. If you cannot make it for your duty or you have to leave early, please inform jingyi latest by Friday.

Cultural pot

The 12 sec 2 councillors and 3 sec 3 councillors who are down for duty on 18th November (cultural pot):

Venue: UCC Entrance
Attire: bring your council tie, council badge, black shoes, white shirt/blouse and blazer
Time: 5.00 pm

*Do note that you need not be fully dressed up when you reach there. You may change after you have reported there. But do note that you need to be prepared (meaning changed into full attire) by 5.30pm. Mrs B.lim will be the teacher in charge.
